A couple pictures that interested me this past week.
Working on pace and turn technique today. Here's what we did with the Masters team, but it works for swimmers of any age and ability.
There are sets that ask swimmers to descend time while maintaining a certain sendoff. There are sets that ask swimmers to maintain time while tightening the sendoff. There are sets that ask swimmers to descend time AND tighten the sendoff. This week's set is a little different in that it asks swimmers to descend time while ascending (increasing) the sendoff.
When many younger and older swimmers come off a flip turn, they're sometimes disoriented and push off incorrectly. In order to learn a great line, and stable exit from a flip, here's a good sequence to help.

This drill is sent out to all our friends heading to US Masters Nationals in Atlanta this week. This will be pretty much the last weekend for the tech-suit era and, love 'em or hate 'em, they've made quite an impact on the sport.
