Main Set Thursday - February 2, 2012 - Groundhog Practice
Inspired by Barbara's Groundhog day practice. While maybe not as creative, it's all in the delivery.

Well... the water was freezing, so sometimes you have to abandon a regular workout plan, and improvise to keep people moving.
Here's a set for Groundhog's Day that combines teamwork and a lot of underwater breath control.
Main set today included freestyle 50s and 100s, with a couple of kick sets at the end.
Kick focus today, with some smooth swimming between for recovery.
Learning what a solid pace to hold is typically a work in progress... understanding how the water feels as you travel at that pace is a learned skill.
Descend 200s with active rest. Another good practice if you're prepping for the One Hour Swim.
Today marks the 9th anniversary of Barbara's Masters team, the UVRays. To celebrate the day, they swam a workout filled with "9s."
This main set got many thumbs up today from the Masters group that Barbara coaches.
100s! Just a few, but three different ways to attack descending intervals.
Easy pattern to follow, but there are two ways to approach a set like this.
How to celebrate the shortest day of the year (Winter Soltice is at 5:30 UTC on December 22, 2011)? With short sets of 25s!
Mellow 400s today, interspersed with 75s that get faster throughout the set.
Short set in every stroke today, including a very short butterfly set that keeps popping up....
As a coach, I like giving sets where everyone is on the same sendoff.
We are a group of swimmers who swim really fast, and like to help others learn how to reach their competitive potential in the area of professional swimming.
