I like it cooler...79 to 80 at the most

Responded Nov 16, 2007 10:22AM

I agree... 79 - 80° is perfect. Our pool is SO warm, I feel like my head is going to explode sometimes. It also makes the air harder to breathe.

80 degrees seems best, however our community pool is utilized for arthritic therapy and to qualify for grants the temp has to be ~86 degrees. It is frustrating for our swimmers.

Responded Nov 16, 2007 12:40PM

26°C

I like the pool to be 82* for swim practice. That way it doesn't hurt to get in, and it doesn't take forever to warm up my arthritic shoulders (college injury). When it is warmer, I get dizzy.

But when I swam in high school, they "tried" to keep the pool at 72* and it was just brutally cold all the time. Our team spent so much time being sick, it is a wonder that we were able to compete at all.

24*C to about 26*C

Responded Nov 19, 2007 03:01PM

79 is perfect. 82 and above I find myself pouring my bottled water on my head. Just to hot.

79 degrees fahrenheit is around 26.1 celsius. 80F is 26.6 C. 24 C is 75F, nice for an outside pool on a sunny day, but a little chilly for me. The coldest water this southerner has swam in is 68F or 20C...no wet suit of course.

WE LOST THE POOL HEAT AT THE WHITEPLAINS YMCA TODAY. 75 DEGREES AND DROPPING, NEED A NEW HEAT PUMP THING. AT FIRST YOU FEEL COLD AND THE MUSCLES ON YOUR BACK ARE STIFF AND YOUR TOES FEEL BLUE. BUT YOU WARM UP REAL QUICK. I JUST SWAM MY FASTEST 100 FREESTYLE IN THE POOL 1:00MIN! I LIKE 75 TODAY. MAYBE FOR WEDNESDAY IT WILL BE A CHILLY 72 AND I'LL REPORT BACK TO YA ON THAT.

26°C is ok for me
